Poem: Divine Dragons

This is the poem that Hugo DeMarco gave to my players in my Matchmaker Campaign when they inquired about metallic dragons.

Across the skies and over seas the dragons did fly

With scales that glinted like precious metals

And eyes that glowed divine

Brass - the "dessert" talker

The narcissist but kind

Always speaking, never listening

But loves the little beasts it finds

Friend of Listeners

Flattery always accepted

Bronze - the sea dweller

Fear of pirates and brigands

Pearl-eater, sea stalker

Harbinger of justice, law, and order

Friend of the Flock

Justice always accepted

Copper - the trickster

The jester and riddler

Inventor of the fool’s errand

Shaper of stone

Friend of Bards

Jokes always accepted

Silver - the prince

And also the heart

The watcher of mortals

Cloud walker, affectionate

Friend of All

Kindness always accepted

Gold - the monarch

The strongest of all

The Wizard, the Sorcerer

The spy, on watch for the good

Friend of Goodness

Wisdom always accepted

The five, they fly where they are needed

To fight great evils

To protect their Friends and Accept what is Given

They seek the Worthy

Their New Mortal Souls become part of the Drake

And they are reborn

The cycle starts anew
